Navigate Soil Contamination Compliance: Preliminary & Detailed Site Assessments
We're here to guide our clients through the entire consenting process, ensuring all requirements are met to achieve a favorable and sustainable outcome that benefits both the project and the environment.
Subdividing, developing, or redeveloping land often requires navigating complex regulatory landscapes, including the National Environmental Standard (NES) for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soil.
SQN GeoSciences provides the expert assessments needed to secure resource consent, safeguard human health, and ensure your project complies with both national and regional standards.
Risk Mitigation: Identify and manage potential human health risks before they become costly liabilities.
Sustainable Outcomes: Ensure your project benefits both the environment and the community.
Informed Guidance: We interpret local authority expectations, providing clear documentation that streamlines the consent application process.
Our Comprehensive Site Assessment Process.
We specialise in offering comprehensive investigations and reports for the following requirements:
Preliminary Site Investigation (PSI)
The initial, desktop-based investigation and site walkover to identify the likelihood of soil contamination based on past land use.
Determines if a Detailed Site Investigation (DSI) is necessary.
Conducted in accordance with the NES for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soil.
Detailed Site Investigation (DSI)
Physical collection and laboratory analysis of soil samples if the PSI indicates potential contamination.
Evaluation of soil conditions against NES Human Health Standards and locally applicable Regional Plan environmental protection criteria.
A definitive assessment of the nature, extent, and severity of any contamination.
